Canon EF-M 11-22mm f/4-5.6 IS STM Set To Be Released On July 11

 EF-M 11-22mm

Canon Japan announced the release date for Canon’s third lens for the EOS M system, the wide-angle zoom 11-22mm f/4-5.6 IS STM lens. It will be released to the public on July 11.

Good times for the so much criticised (not always for a good reason, imo) EOS M: the recently released firmware update countered the slow AF issue that were plaguing the EOS M since the beginning, and that yielded a lot of bad press. With firmware 2.0.2 the EOS M AF has become perfectly usable. Some videos that show the AF performance with firmware 2.0.2 on the 11-22mm are here.

The EF-M 11-22mm f/4-5.6 IS STM can be pre-ordered at the following shops:

Now if Canon soon would announce a EOS M2 with the 70 D sensor, good EVF, tilting LCD, 2 or 3 more good lenses like
4/40-125 or 2,8/17-55, they are at once in a very good position in the mirrorless market.

That should be possible for Canon!
