The Canon EOS 6D Mark II

Nokishita posted the Canon EOS 6D Mark II price tags for Japan.

  • EOS 6D Mark II body: 243,000 Yen (approx. $2,160)
  • Kit with EF 24 – 105mm F 3.5-5.6 IS STM: 290,520 Yen (approx. $2,590)
  • Kit with EF 24 – 70mm F4 L IS USM: 353,160 Yen ($3,150)

My take: the rumor suggesting a price of $1,999 for the Canon EOS 6D Mark II in the USA is still to consider. Even if the conversion from Yen is around $2,100, it doesn’t mean the price in the USA will the more or less exact conversion from the Yen. A price of $1,999 for the body is still likely.

The original Canon 6D mk I had a price of $2099 when it came out in the US.

I researched the Canon 5D’s pricing at release and it looks like the 5D mk III and mk IV were both $3499 at release, so I wouldn’t be suprised if the 6D mk II is $2100.

    again.. yawn.

why should anyone with a 6D update to this?
the sensor will not make quantum leap… that much is sure.

no 4k, no second card slot.
max shutterspeed is still 1/4000s and i could really need 1/8000s with my fast glas.

    and i don´t even get a 100% viewfinder.

I was excited for it until the specs came out. 2000 dollars and the viewfinder isn’t even 100 percent. That to me…just kills it. The 80D has 100 percent. Any mirrorless cameras of course has it. Canon just isn’t getting it. I was happy but now I’m just going to save up longer and get the 5d Mark IV. This could have been the camera for hobbyist but they ruined it.
