Canon EOS M DxOMark Scores Published (better than T4i/650D)
Canon EOS M DxOMark scores published. Not surprising: the Canon EOS M (prce & specs) scores lower than the Sony NEX 6 (price & specs) and the Olympus OM-D (price & specs). Surprising: the EOS M scores higher (slightly) than the Rebel T4i/EOS 650D (price & specs), both for color depth and low light ISO.

6 months ago |The T4i had some particularly bad results…even worse than the T3i in many tests. Not sure what happened but i’m hoping Canon does something soon to better their sensor technology.

6 months ago |I can see why you’d say not much has changed, but keep in mind, the 20D has 8.2 megapixels; the 650D has 18.0 megapixels. The 650D also does have video, although I’m guessing that’s beside your point.
My guess is that Canon is concerned mostly with megapixel numbers and is satisfied with keeping the noise performance at an acceptable level (I’m not suggesting that this level is or is not acceptable to me).
Judge image quality on the photos of course. This does raise the frustrating point about how Canon seems to design the rebel series with consumers at the forefront of their minds, leaving the many enthusiasts who can’t afford a higher-end camera stuck with consumer-grade equipment that doesn’t fit their needs.
