Canon CINE-SERVO 50-1000mm

Canon might announce a new Cine-Servo lens soon, likely on April 20, 2020.

  • 1.5x built-in extender
  • Detachable servo unit
  • Compatible with both Super35 and Full- Frame sensors

  • The C300 Mark III will have the same body as the C500 Mark II and use the same accessories

What do we know about the Canon EOS R5?

Quite a bit. Canon announced the development months ago, and then later on released a second press communication to stop “fantasy speculations” about their upcoming game changer. Canon EOS M Rumor: Two New Cameras And Some Primes To Be Released In 2020

Canon Eos M Rumor

A Canon EOS M rumor surfaced that’s very similar to a rumor we posted in February 2020.

It’s suggested that Canon might release two new EOS M bodies in 2020. One of these could likely be the Canon EOS M60 (the replacement for the EOS M50, might also be named EOS M50 Mark II). The other one could be the Canon EOS M5 Mark II. We reported back in February that Canon might announce the M5 II in October 2020 and the EOS M60 at the beginning of 2021.

The new Canon EOS M rumor mentions also the possibility that Canon might release two prime lenses for the EOS M system. One of these could be the EF-M 52mm f/2 STM we reported in February 2020. Our rumor mentioned a EF-M 18-45mm f/2-4 IS STM, which is not mentioned in the new rumor.

Upcoming Canon announcements:

We expect Canon to announce a new Cinema camera on April 20, 2020, during a livestreamed conference, most likely the Canon Cinema EOS C300 Mark III. The EOS R5 will not be announced on April 20, 2020, we expect the EOS R5 announcement before Summer 2020.

Canon USA Lists The EOS 7D Mark III – Sign Or Mistake? Tell Us In Poll

Canon Eos 7d Mark Iii

Canon USA’s website lists the Canon EOS 7D Mark III. Is this a mistake or is it a sign an announcement might come soon?

As you can see in the image on top, the Canon EOS 7D Mark III is listed among other Canon cameras for having “clean HDMI out”. Indeed, you can reach the page of the screenshot above by searching for “clean HDMI out” and then switching to the “Knowledge Base” tab for results. It’s the first entry.

Does this mean the Canon EOS 7D Mark II replacement is ready to get announced, or is it just an unfortunate placeholder? We are not sure yet but lean more towards the mistake/placeholder opinion. In the past there have been some related rumors but it’s a long time we didn’t here anything reliable.

But Canon listing the 7D3 is a thing. Maybe it was planned and then dropped from Canon’s agenda? A camera like the 7D3 is likely to take long R&D and testing times and maybe, just maybe, the success of the Canon EOS R made Canon change their mind? Moreover, there have been rumors that Canon might release an EOS R body with APS-C sensor, and that such a camera could replace the EOS 7D Mark II. It’s all just speculation but it seems to fit together.

What do you think? Let us know through the poll.

What does the fact Canon is listing the EOS 7D Mark III mean?

A Canon RF 85mm f/2 IS STM Lens Might Be In The Works

Canon RF 85mm F/1.2 DS Review

Is Canon set to release a third 85mm lens for the EOS R system, i.e. a maybe more affordable Canon RF 85mm f/2 IS STM lens?

That’s what a new rumor is suggesting. Canon might announce a Canon RF 85mm f/2 IS STM lens for the Canon EOS R full frame mirrorless system in 2020. If we got it right, this would be a non-L lens, and hence most probably won’t have the high price of the two other 85mm lenses for the EOS R, the RF 85mm f/1.2L and RF 85mm f/1.2L DS “Defocus Smoothing”.

We also have reason to believe that Canon is set to release a bunch of non-L RF prime lenses with f/2-f/2.8 within this year (2020), and these too should have a more affordable price. According to the source, these prime lenses might range from 18mm to 85mm.
