Rumor: First Canon EOS 7D Mark II Specification Show Up

Canon Rumors posted what could be the first list of leaked Canon EOS 7D Mark II specs. Announcement is expected at the end of summer 2013. The specifications are impressive:

  • 24.1mp APS-C Sensor
  • Dual DIGIC V
  • 10fps
  • Dual Memory Card Slots
  • 61 AF Points
  • 3.2″ LCD
  • Build quality like 5D3
  • GPS & Wifi
  • $2199
  • ISO Performance to get close to the 5D3
  • “Lots of video features”

Apparently there are up to three prototypes out in the wild and undergoing testing. The published specs may belong to one of the three prototypes. A new kind of APS-C sensor is said to be featured on the EOS 7D Mark II, with a resolution of 24MP. But the sensor specs may change since Canon could be testing different sensor before deciding which one to feature on the EOS 7D Mark III.

If the specs are what we will get, and if Canon manages to deliver what the specs promise, then the EOS 7D Mark II will be a real winner camera.

the only problem i have wieth the current 7D is the often “grainy” look of the images because of luminance noise.

if canon improves the low iso noise this sure is a winner.

I think the spec list really looks great, and would love to see this come to fruition. Though I certainly hope one of the card slots is a CF.

At the end of the summer…. Come on Canon, why has to take this so long! The 7D is old now! for a digital slr and isn’t become that much cheaper either! Although Nikon takes the same slow approach with the D7000.

Same price tag than the full frame Canon 6D? What’s the point? I would go for the 6D anytime.

    • Russell

For some people yes the 6D might do the job, but if the 7D is really like this..I will sell my 5D3 to buy this camera in a heartbeat since Im an action sports photographer

Impresive? Price is impresive… Nothing else.

$2199??…better wait for the FullFrame NEX9…!!

    I think its very impressive.
I have literally thousands of excellent wildlife photos from my 7d since Christmas this past year.
If I had 2 more FPS, better High ISO ability, and more megapixels for my large prints (up to 20×30 when I do an occasional landscape) it would be even better.

The price is about what expect but it will likely drop to $1600 6 months or so after launch.
