8 months ago |$1499 for the 24-70 f/4 is way overpriced. No thanks, I’ll stick with the 24-105 f/4. Canon has been greedy and done a poor job when it comes to understanding what the customer wants. Massive fail Canon.

8 months ago |The key is the pricing, esp. with the 6D kit. The Nikon D600 kit with a 24-85 f3.4-4.5 VR is now selling for about $2600 US dollars.
If you just add the price of a 6D plus this new 24-70 you get $3600…now there will probably be a reduction as a kit, but it better be a good one…because right now it looks as if the 6D kit will retail significantly higher than $3000…maybe $3300…and that will make the Nikon kit all the more attractive to first time FF buyers.

8 months ago |Totally agree – in the UK, you can buy the Nikon D600 kit with a 24-85 f3.4-4.5 VR for about $150 more than the Canon 6D body only!!
This is insanity.
By all accounts, the Nikon is the less nerfed and better built of the two. I cannot see how a buyer can be convinced to buy the 6D. There are so many better choices out there (including getting hold of a second hand 1dsMkII which will cost you peanuts and give you great joy).

8 months ago |It’s $850 for the 35mm f/2. Their current 35mm f/2 is half of that.
Canon clearly doesn’t want enthusiasts to buy into their ecosystem.

8 months ago |Canon doesn’t seem to have a strategy between their bodies and lenses. I can’t see the price appealing to the consumer or the specs to the pros on either the 6D or 24-70.
Not sure what is going on with Canon, but it doesn’t bode well.
