Leica SL vs Canon EOS 5Ds R size comparison

Photography Blog posted a gallery of pictures with the new Leica SL full-frame mirrorless system camera side by side with the Canon EOS 5Ds R full-frame DSLR. Well, the Leica SL is a huge piece of gear for a mirrorless camera.

The Leica SL is also big on the price, selling at $7,450 (BHphoto | Adorama). Is the Leica SL the high-tech dream-gadget of the moment? I am somehow missing scope and purpose of a mirrorless camera that’s almost the same size as a full-frame DSLR, and puts you back by $12,500 when coupled with the Leica Vario-Elmarit-SL 24-90mm f/2.8-4 lens.

Why not get the excellent Canon EOS M3 instead?
