Back in March we had a first hint that the Canon EOS-1D X Mark II might feature 4K video recording. The suggestion came from Mr. Masaya Maeda in an interview. The possibility of a 4K enabled EOS-1D X Mark II surfaced again in a fresh rumor. Despite being rumored to feature 4K, the EOS-1D X Mark II is said to be a mostly stills oriented cameras.

On Saturday October 3, 2015, in Albuquerque New Mexico, the Canon See Impossible Balloon led more than 500 colorful hot air and gas balloons operated by pilots from more than 22 countries around the world to take flight in unity. From the event grounds to the vast New Mexico sky, Canon’s presence at and in support of the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta encourages and empowers attendees from all over the world to capture and print these once in a lifetime moments using tools that authentically represent the fiesta’s vibrant glow.
The 2.5 minutes video above was made by photographer Julian Tryba. It’s a “layer-lapse” of the American Southwest. What’s a layer-lapse? Multiple time-lapses sequences of the exact same scene are shot over different times of the day. Portions of the footage are then mixed together into the same frame.
The footage was shot while driving 3,000 miles through Utah, Arizona, Nevada, and California. The used gear: Canon EOS 1D C, EOS 5D Mark III, EOS 6D, and EOS 7D.

Adobe released an update for Lightroom CC. New lens profiles have been added, even for FD lenses (see after the break). Use the Help-> Check for Updates menu item or the Creative Cloud application to install this desktop update. Again, this update is not available for Lightroom standalone version. A new version of Camera Raw (ver. 9.2) is also available for download.

Dehaze as a Local Adjustment*
We added Dehaze as a global adjustment in the Lightroom CC 2015.1 release and are excited to see the widespread interest in the feature. We wanted to extend the functionality, and I’m happy to announce that you can now apply Dehaze as a Local Adjustment. This means that you can use Dehaze with the Radial Filter, Graduated Filter and Local Adjustment Brush.
Canon patent for a mount adapter with built-in tilt-shift functionality. This is not the first patent by Canon for such a technology.
