[Rumor] Canon Set To Release A Firmware Update For The Canon EOS M Before Christmas

Got this today from a new source. Canon will release a firmware update for the Canon EOS M before Christmas. The new firmware release is said to address the auto focus problems, mainly the sluggish focus time, of the EOS M, both for the native lenses and for EF and EF-S lenses used through the EF/EF-S adpater.

I really hope this rumor is going to be true, although I didn't so far experience any major drawback with the AF. See my first impressions of the Canon EOS M here.

Admin do you know if there will be similar firmware release for the Canon t4i/650d?

Do you have knowledge about the “missing” remote capture feature, which is advertised on the canon website but blocked on the camera ? Ty

Still no news about that firmware update? I am getting EXTREMELY irritated at the slowest autofocus I ever experienced. No way to get a moving object in focus – not even a snail. I hugely regret I bought this camera if they don’t fix this issue.

Me too. The AF is total fail. Unfortunately the rumor didn’t come to reality.
