Adobe Lightroom 2015.2/6.2 update problems

lightroom

It appears the last Lightroom update is pretty buggy. At least so much buggy that Adobe decided to post about it:

Lightroom team wanted to let the community know that we’re investigating some critical performance and crasher bugs, and will be issuing an update shortly to address them.

If you are experiencing crashing or slowdowns, please try the following:

  • Go to Lightroom > Preferences.
  • Click on the General tab
  • Uncheck “Show ‘Add Photos’ Screen”
  • Restart Lightroom

See more about the issues at Adobe.

Adobe Lightroom CC 2015.2 now available (and Camera Raw 9.2 too)

Adobe released an update for Lightroom CC. New lens profiles have been added, even for FD lenses (see after the break). Use the Help-> Check for Updates menu item or the Creative Cloud application to install this desktop update. Again, this update is not available for Lightroom standalone version. A new version of Camera Raw (ver. 9.2) is also available for download.

Dehaze as a Local Adjustment*

We added Dehaze as a global adjustment in the Lightroom CC 2015.1 release and are excited to see the widespread interest in the feature.  We wanted to extend the functionality, and I’m happy to announce that you can now apply Dehaze as a Local Adjustment.  This means that you can use Dehaze with the Radial Filter, Graduated Filter and Local Adjustment Brush.

How to get the Dehaze feature on Adobe Lightroom 6.1 (free presets)

If you’re not an Adobe CC subscriber then you didn’t get the Dehaze feature with the latest Adobe Lightroom update. The Dehaze tool is available only for Lightroom CC and Photoshop CC, and not for Lightroom 6. If you never heard about Dehaze have a look at the short video above.

There is a way to have Dehaze in Lightroom 6, it comes as a preset and it is free. Prolost released Prolost Dehaze for Lightroom 6.1, a series of presets that give you intuitive, visual access to the new Dehaze feature without requiring a Creative Cloud subscription. You can download the preset for free.
