Roger Cicala of Lens Rentals posted MTF charts and other lab analysis data of the Sigma 14-24mm f2.8 Art lens.

In the conclusion he writes:

I said at the beginning that I expected this lens to be at least as good as the Nikon 14-24mm f/2.8 and better than the Tamron 15-30mm f/2.8. I think it’s pretty apparent that while they are all within hair splitting distance of each other at 14mm, the Sigma is the best at 24mm. Optically, this one is worth the money and the best overall 14-24mm zoom. There are lots of other things that go into choosing a lens, but at these very wide angles, things like autofocus speed are not big points.

That being said, if you’re buying a 14mm lens to be a 14mm prime (and some of you are), then all three of these do very well. Honestly, though, for a little more money you should consider the Sigma 14mm f/1.8 Art if that’s the case. If you’re thinking of matching a 14-24-70mm f/2.8 to collect the whole focal length set, then the Sigma is the best optical choice.

ePhotozine completed there review of the new Sigma 70mm f/2.8 DG Macro Art lens.

From the conclusion:

Sigma has provided a well made, solid macro lens that delivers very impressive image quality. It operates flawlessly, albeit it with slightly slower than average AF, but proves an excellent overall match for the Canon EOS 5DS R.

The 70mm focal length is a good compromise for the full frame bodies. For APS-C cameras the “35mm format equivalent” would be 112mm for Canon. This means that a 50mm macro might be a better choice for APS-C if the user wanted a similar field of view to the one this lens offers in full frame.

[…] in summary, the new Sigma lens offers all the right things in terms of handling and quality and is well worth considering as an alternative to the more common focal lengths. Read the review…

Comparable Canon Macro lens offerings are more expensive than the Sigma 70mm f/2.8 DG Macro.

Sigma 14-24mm F2.8 ART lens review (Photography Blog)

Sigma 14-24mm f2.8 ART at a glance:

  • EF-Mount Lens/Full-Frame Format
  • Aperture Range: f/2.8 to f/22

  • Weather-Sealed Brass Bayonet Mount
  • Rounded 9-Blade Diaphragm
  • Minimum Focus Distance: 10.2″

Photography Blog reviewed the new Sigma 14-24mm F2.8 ART lens.

Excerpts from the conclusion:

The 14-24mm F2.8 DG HSM Art is a surprising, but very welcome, addition to Sigma’s ever growing Art range of premium lenses, offering a faster aperture of f/2.8 at the expense of 2mm in focal length when compared to the very similar Sigma 12-24mm F4 DG HSM Art lens, whilst being cheaper than it’s slightly older sibling (at least in the US anyway) and additionally offering much better weather-sealing.

Image quality is excellent. Chromatic aberrations are very well controlled, bokeh is surprisingly good despite the ultra-wide-angle nature of the lens, barrel distortion is impressively well controlled, and the Super Multi-Layer coating successfully prevents contrast loss attributable to flare.

[…]  the Sigma 14-24mm F2.8 DG HSM Art’s build quality is once again reassuringly excellent, although it’s also one of the heaviest wide-angle zooms that we’ve ever tested. Auto-focusing is quiet and quick […] Read the review…
