Looks like the announcement of Adobe Lightroom 6 is imminent. Fuji Rumors spotted a teaser for “something really BIG” at lightroomkillertips. Scott Kelby isn’t explicitly mentioning LR6, but we think it is very likely that Lightroom 6 will be announced tomorrow. Writes Scott Kelby:
OK, for us, things don’t get much bigger than this — now, unfortunately I can’t tell you actually what it is that’s coming Tuesday, but it’s SO BIG that we’re doing FOUR free live Webcasts on Tuesday and you’re invited (if you’re a photographer, you’re going to want to be there to see and talk about this big secret thingy).

Shutterstock provided some stats about the cameras used by photographers who submit photos to the service. As you can see in the chart (larger version), Canon DSLRs are firmly at the top of the used cameras: Undisputed at the first rank is the venerable EOS 5D Mark II, followed by the EOS 5D Mark III and the EOS 6D.
The EOS 5D Mark II and 5D Mark III together are used for 41% of the photos shot with the top 10 cameras. Shutterstock produced this figures by extracting EXIF data from the photos.

Canon France, in association with Images Evidence, has announced that the 15th annual Canon Female Photojournalist Award is open until 22 May 2015 for submissions from female photojournalists of any age and nationality.
Once again, the award is supported by Elle magazine and Canon France will grant the winning female photojournalist €8,000 to help her to continue and complete a photojournalistic project on a social, economic, political or cultural subject.
A jury made up of photography and press professionals will select the winner in June. Applicants will be judged by both the presentation of their project and their previous work. Among the selection criteria are the quality of the photographs, as well as the journalistic thoughts and relevance of the chosen subject.
The Award will be presented to the winner at the Visa pour l’Image international festival of photojournalism in Perpignan, France, during the professional week from 31 August – 6 September 2015. The winner will produce an ongoing one year project which will lead to an exhibition or showing at the Festival in 2016.
