YONGNUO YN14mm F/2.8 at a glance:
The YONGNUO YN14mm F/2.8 Ultra-wide Angle Prime Lens is in stock and ready to ship for $557.99 at Amazon US.
The YN 14mm f/2.8 looks very similar to Canon’s 14mm lenses. Interesting detail: the Yongnuo YN 14mm f/2.8 has a USB port for firmware updates. Although the new Yongnuo lens looks similar to Canon’s 14mm f/2.8 II lens it’s not a clone.

Even if it makes you laugh, photographing beer isn’t as trivial as you may think. You have to take into account the properties of lighting, glass, and obviously of liquids.
However, there is another factor that plays a role in this very kind of photography, and it’s emotion. Photographer Rob Grimm has spent his career immersed in the world of beverage photography, and he is ready to share tips and tricks.
The video below gives an overview of Grimm’s photography class, which consiste of 8+ hours of photography & retouching tutorials. Iso1200 Magazine, who spotted the now free photography class, sums it up as follows:
Rob Grimm demonstrates his entire studio workflow photographing a glass of beer on a white background. Rob teaches how to built a set, pour and style beer, set up lighting and modifiers, and capture a commercial beer image. Watch as Rob and his assistant experiment, troubleshoot ideas, and through trial and error find the best lighting, composition and capture for a glass of beer.
The beer photography class was $299 and is now available for free at RGGEDU. Course description:
In this tutorial, you will see Rob’s entire process for creating beverage images by breaking the composition down into its parts and obsessing over the details. You will learn the foundations of beverage photography from capturing a bottle on white, photographing cocktails including drink styling, proper use of ice, realistic condensation, creating appetite and appeal, and the use of duratrans to make an image that appears to be shot on-location with all the control of a studio. Rob will share with you his method for generating portfolio ideas that will make you rethink your entire approach to creating images. Finally, world-renowned retoucher Earth Oliver, will walk you through the best methods to bring polish to your images that stand out from the crowd.
Enjoy!
