Canon EOS 5D Mark IV DxOMarked, best Canon sensor so far, still behind competition

DxOMark put the new Canon EOS 5D Mark IV under examination in their labs. The [shoplink 40051]EOS 5D Mark IV[/shoplink] scores better than any other Canon DSLR, getting a score of 91.

However, Canon’s new full-frame DSLR is still behind the competition. The [shoplink 29228]Nikon D810[/shoplink] and Sony [shoplink 32538]a7R II[/shoplink], which score 97 and 98 respectively.

Writes DxOMark:

[…] Canon has certainly caught up with the competition, but remains behind the top sensors in Sony and Nikon cameras. The Sony A7R II offers over two-thirds of a stop better color (26 bits compared vs 24.8 bits), but only marginally better dynamic range (13.9 EV vs 13.6 EV), thanks to the big strides forward Canon has made in this regard.
