Canon exceeds 2015 goal for lifecycle CO2 emissions improvement.

MELVILLE, N.Y., September 30, 2016 – Highlighting the company’s approach towards creating a sustainable global society, Canon Inc., the parent company of Canon U.S.A., Inc., a leader in digital imaging solutions, released its annual Sustainability Report. For 2015, Canon exceeded its goal of a 3 percent lifecycle CO2 emissions improvement index per product 1 over 2014 figures through efforts to make products more compact, lightweight, and energy efficient, as well as through improved efficiencies during manufacturing and transportation. The Company has also been recognized with multiple awards for its corporate environmental sustainability efforts.

Canon EOS 5D Mark IV: [shopcountry 40051]

Canon released a firmware update for the Canon EOS 5D Mark IV (and it’s not what I was told). This is not the only firmware update released today by Canon.

Firmware 1.0.2 fixes the following

Improves communication reliability when using EOS Utility to register/update* new Digital Lens Optimizer.

Canon release firmware updates for EOS 70, EOS 6D, SL1, Rebel T5i and T6

Canon released a bunch of firmware updates for a set of DSLRs. The update…

corrects a phenomenon in which when using the camera with the EF-S 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM or EF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 IS II USM lens, even if lens aberration correction is set to “Enable”, correction will not be applied.

The EOS 6D firmware update won’t fix the EF-S 18-135mm since this lens can’t be used on a full-frame body.

Canon will likely add these fixes to more firmware updates for other DSLRs.

I’ve been told (thanks) Canon will soon release a firmware update for the just released Canon EOS 5D Mark IV.

The firmware update fixes bugs and solves compatibility issues with third party lenses (Sigma & Tamron).
