Pocket-lint’s hands on, they write:
So there’s a lot on offer in the new Canon DSLR. Not only is there innovative technology that will make live view and video shooting faster and easier, but it offers a great level of specification for those looking for a camera that’s versatile. Best of all, it isn’t a huge camera, measuring 139 x 104.3 x 78.5mm and weighing 755g without the lens, but with the LP-E6 battery that’s good for 900+ shots.
A first impressions review by Digital Camera Info, they write:
Amateur filmmakers and pros who want to pack light should be very interested in Canon’s newest DSLR, though. In combining some of the best aspects of the T5i (touchscreen), 60D (body style), 7D (controls), and full-frame 6D (video features), and pairing them with a groundbreaking new autofocus system, it embodies the purest expression thus far of what DSLRs can do for serious film work.
EOSHD’s take on the Canon EOS 70D:
It’s good when Canon does trickle out new technology and whilst those moments don’t come quite quickly enough for my liking the new AF might be interesting for filmmakers.
