A new rumor surfaced from the interweb of connected rumor mills. Canon might have two more APS-C cameras in the EOS R lineup, the already rumored Canon EOS R100 and the EOS R1000.

We broke the news time ago with the Canon EOS R100, and we expect Canon to announce it most likely in 2023. But it seems there is one more, entry-level EOS R camera with APS-C sensor on its way, already dubbed Canon EOS R1000 by those who claim to know. No specifications are available so far and as always: take it with a grain of salt.

The Canon EOS R100 might have these specifications:

  • 24.2mp APS-C Sensor
  • DIGIC X
  • 12fps (Mechanical)
  • 4K30p
  • Dual Pixel AF II
  • 1.04 4million dot Vari-Angle Touchscreen
  • No EVF

Stay tuned for more….

Has The Canon EOS M50 Mark II Also Been Discontinued?

After reports about the discontinuation of the Canon EOS M200, now it is suggested the Canon EOS M50 Mark II is facing the same fate.

The Canon EOS M50 Mark II is one of Canon’s bestselling consumer MILCs. The fact that it might be discontinued finds us surprised. On the other hand, we expect Canon to release a very entry level EOS R mirrorless camera with APS-C sensor, the Canon EOS R100. Maybe Canon is really discontinuing the EOS M lineup.

Stay tuned…

Are These The Canon EOS R100 Specifications (almost same as already rumored)?

Some new bits about the Canon EOS R100, an upcoming entry level Canon mirrorless camera we reported about back in June, 2022.

The now surfaced, alleged Canon EOS R100 specifications are slightly different from the specifications we posted June, 2022. Here are both specification lists (left the newly rumored and right the one we posted in June:

Newly rumored EOS R100 specsEOS R100 specifications posted in June
– 24.2mp APS-C Sensor
– DIGIC X
– 12fps (Mechanical)
– 4K30p
– Dual Pixel AF II
– 1.04 4million dot  Vari-Angle Touchscreen
– No EVF
– 24.2 million pixel APS-C CMOS sensor
– 4k 30p 8bit
– No HDR PQ mode like the EOS R10
– 14fps continuous shooting speed
– 3.0-inch 1.04 million dot vari-angle monitor
– Scheduled to be released Q1 or Q2 2023

We can’t see much new intel in the new list, besides the obvious. That a very entry level mirrorless camera might have no EVF doesn’t come as a surprise. As you can see the suggested resolution hasn’t changed. Nothing to write home about.

Stay tuned, or even better go out ans snap pics ;-)

Is The Canon EOS R100 The Next MILC Canon Will Announce?

In June we reported that Canon might release a more entry level mirrorless camera with RF mount, the Canon EOS R100. It seems our rumor got a confirmation. These are the specs we were told and reported back in June:

  • 24.2 million pixel APS-C CMOS sensor
  • 4k 30p 8bit
  • There is no HDR PQ mode like the EOS R10
  • 14fps continuous shooting speed
  • 3.0-inch 1.04 million dot vari-angle monitor
  • Scheduled to be released Q1 or Q2 2023

Although the source of the rumor is not mentioning the “EOS R100” moniker, it might well be this camera. The source of the rumor states:

Canon’s next APS-C camera will be a small form factor “vlogger”, which we’re told will be close to the Canon EOS M6 Mark II in design.

Confirmed specifications are still relatively unreliable, but you can be sure that it will shoot 4K at 60fps and that there will likely be a 120fps mode.

[…] been told that the camera will use a different kind of vari-angle LCD screen.

That’s all for the time being. We are rather confident that the rumor refers to the same camera we reported in June, the Canon EOS R100. Time will tell.

Any idea?

Will Canon Announce The EOS R100 In 2023?

Canon’s next EOS R model with an APS-C imaging sensor might not be far away, according to a new, low rated rumor. It might be the Canon EOS R100.

Rumor has it that Canon might announce the Canon EOS R100 in 2023. A set of alleged specifications also leaked:

  • 24.2 million pixel APS-C CMOS sensor
  • 4k 30p 8bit
  • There is no HDR PQ mode like the EOS R10
  • 14fps continuous shooting speed
  • 3.0-inch 1.04 million dot vari-angle monitor
  • Scheduled to be released Q1 or Q2 2023

Take it with a grain of salt. The source of the rumor is not very reliable.
