DPReview TV posted their Canon RF 16mm F2.8 STM review. You can watch it in the video below. They say (emphasis mine):

When it was first announced, we were surprised by how small and affordable the Canon RF 16mm F2.8 STM was. Ever since, we’ve wanted to try one out and we finally had a chance! Canon’s RF mount may boast plenty of fancy, expensive optics, but this might be one of the most exciting lenses in the system

Is This The Upcoming Canon RF 24-50mm F4.5-6.3 IS STM Lens?

Rf 24-50mm

An image surfaced on Instagram, allegedly it shows the upcoming Canon RF 24-50mm F4.5-6.3 IS STM (image on top). But is it real?

For the time being we have no indications the image might be a fake (nor to we have indications it might not be a fake). In any case: take it with a grain of salt. Regarding the watermark, it seems to be sort of joke to a well known rumor site.

What do you think, image real or fake?

Announcement of new Canon gear on February 8, 2023. Stay tuned…

It seems that Canon is set to announce the RF 24-50mm F4.5-6.3 IS STM lens very soon, possibly this month.

Asobinet reports that Canon will release the RF 24-50mm F4.5-6.3 IS STM most likely in February 2023. No specifications so far but I am sure they will flock in soon too. We think the RF 24-50mm F4.5-6.3 IS STM will be a diminutive and light-weighted lens, and an entry level lens too.

Stay tuned…

Canon Set To Soon Announce A Super Telephoto Lens For The RF Mount?

Telephoto

It seems Canon might soon announce a super telephoto lens for the RF mount, i.e. for the EOS R camera system.

Rumor has it that Canon might be set to announce a new super telephoto lens for the EOS R mirrorless system- But which one it might be no one knows.

Speculation suggest Canon might release RF mount versions of the popular EF 200-400mm f/4L IS 1.4x and the EF 500mm f/4L IS USM II lenses. Both are professional lenses with professional price tags.

No more intel for the time being. Stay tuned for more…

Three New Wide Angle L-tier RF-mount Prime Lenses Coming First Half 2023?

A new Canon rumor concerning RF-mount lenses. Three of them, all primes.

Latest murmuring has it that Canon might release three wide angle “L” lenses for the RF-mount. Says the source of the rumor (emphasis mine):

[…] Canon actually plans to launch 3 wide angle L prime lenses from the RF mount in the first half of 2023. One of the lenses will be the RF 35mm f/1.2L (or f/1.4) and an RF 24mm f/1.4L USM. The third lens is unknown at this time, though [it might be] an L 28mm prime lens

The RF 35mm f/1.2L is rumored since a long time. No surprise since it is a lens Canon will release for sure, sooner or later. All three lenses will for sure be announced sooner or later. Maybe it will happen in the first half of 2023.

Stay tuned.
