Now that the Canon EOS 70D started shipping more and more reviews based on production models show up.
Although you need to take care in high-contrast conditions, in many situations the 63-zone Evaluative metering system does a great job, delivering a perfectly exposed subject. The camera’s images also have natural colours with pleasant saturation and contrast, but as ever, if it’s not to your taste you can tweak the camera’s settings to deliver what you want.
New sample photos shot with an EOS 70D have been published at ephotozine.
A hands-on at photography bay, they write:
[…] the advances in the standard phase detection AF when using the optical viewfinder are most welcomed. The 70D’s viewfinder with all those additional AF points feels like a 5D Mark III Jr.[…] for right now it all looks very promising.
More sample pics at Imaging Resource, they call the EOS 70D a “groundbreaking DSLR”.
planet5d looks at the 70D from the videographers point of view (see also video on top).
Finally, two videos by learning cameras (thanks Sally). Have a good day and thanks for your understanding if I am not posting as usual. I am travelling the US and there is simply too much to see and do 🙂 Currently I am in Montana. Have a great day.
