Richard Trestain (left) and Richard Shepherd from Canon Europe had a one hour talk with Iker Moran from Quesabesde (Click here to read the google english translation).

Those are the key points of the Interview:
– “We do not need CSC (Compact System Cameras ) because our current range covers all fields. In the future we’ll see.
– “It is not just in size, but of balance between performance and ergonomics. I dare not say that the EOS 1100D SLR is the smallest that we can build.
– And regarding the X100 Canon said: “$ 1,000 is a lot of money for a compact,”

UPDATE: Vincent Laforet and the 5D markIV joke

UPDATE: Vincent told contacted us and confessed that this was a joke. The german magazine pc.de made a “mistake” (or worser… told you a “lie”) and thought Vincent was talking about the real Canon 5D markII successor.

Rumor: Canon videocamera with APS-C sensor

That’s good that I had german at school. According to Frank Glencairn (a german Cinematographer) “a little bird whispered him some details about the new Canon camcorder

He says: “The prototype, which is currently being tested in Europe is still a long way away from the production stage. There are problems with moire (possibly because of the line-skipping). The chip itself is sealed, but the results look very similar to those of the 7D.
Canon is obviously aware of the problem and is therefore planning to test later this year, a different sensor.
According to a Canon employee Canon wants to archieve a “RED 2K quality for about half the price”. The new (4:2:2) codec from Canon is not yet implemented in the prototype.

Similar rumors are floating around the web since months. That doesn’t mean that the camera prototype really exists…
