Ok, I admit the title sounds a bit weird. But bear with us for some thoughts about the DSLR vs mirrorless debate, and the Canon EOS-1D X Mark III

Dan Watson argues the Canon EOS-1D X Mark III beats them all when using live view or mirrorless mode. So, do we really need all those (upcoming) EOS R models? Let’s say that the EOS-1D X Mark III is the fastest still FF camera around with some outstanding video features. Ok. for sure it’s bulkier than even the largest MILC, but then: mirrorless cameras are not really small factor when using top tier lenses.
