Canon Powershot SX60 HS Review (Camera Labs)

Camera Labs posted their exhaustive review of the Canon Powershot SX60 HS. From the verdict:

The PowerShot SX60 HS is the latest in a long line of very popular and successful DSLR-styled super-zooms from Canon – and that success isn’t going to stop anytime soon. After a two year wait, Canon has surpassed expectations (unless you were taken in by the nonsense 100x rumours) with a 65x zoom range that beats all comers, for now at least.

[…] the [Powershot SX60 HS] makes improvements in all the key areas with a better viewfinder and screen, built-in Wifi, better video, much improved continuous shooting and a new front dial. The new Seek assist auto mode which helps you keep track of moving subjects when zoomed in is an innovation of the sort that Canon used to magic out of the hat frequently, but has been absent in its compact releases lately. It’s good to see a return to this kind of form.

Canon Ambassador Ziv Koren Takes a New Angle on the Holy Fire

By Canon Ambassador Ziv Koren on Canon Pro Network:

When I first got the Canon EF 8-15mmzoom lens I thought it was an interesting gimmicky ‘toy’ that could make an amazing image in the right location, but it took me about a year to take it out for the first time for something that I thought would be perfect for this super, ultra-crazy wide angle lens.

[…]

Due to the interesting round shape of the church and the tomb in the middle I thought that this ceremony would be just right for the 8-15mm lens, which could give me a very different perspective than anything else I’d ever seen from this location. Even the 15mm lens I used in the past couldn’t give me the full interior of the church. Working with such a wide angle doesn’t always work but when it does, it blows you away!
