Not To Be Sold In The USA: Canon EF-M 11-22mm f/4-5.6 IS STM Lens

 EF-M 11-22mm

Thanks Adam. According to the moderator of the Canon USA forum, the EF-M 11-22mm f/4-5.6 IS STM lens will not ship and be sold in the US:

Thank you for your inquiry regarding the EF-M 11-22mm f/4-5.6 IS STM lens. We can certainly understand the confusion surrounding this release! Unfortunately, this specific lens will not be sold or serviced by Canon USA.

Why that? DigitalRev (price depends by check-out location) ships international.

Canon EF-M 11-22mm f/4-5.6 IS STM Lens in Stock at Amazon Germany

 EF-M 11-22mm

Amazon Germany has the new Canon EF-M 11-22mm f/4-5.6 IS STM lens for the [shoplink 6091]EOS M[/shoplink] system in stock and ready to ship for €399 (click here). I am puzzled by the fact that Amazon US still is not even offering a pre-order option. And why the hell does the lens cost €50 more in France than in Germany? Looks like the EF-M 11-22mm will start to ship in Europe first. Other seller that accept pre-order, or may have the EF-M 11-22mm in stock and ready to ship:

A First Time Into Digital For A Photographic Legend (Don McCullin)

This is a clever, 30 min video by CPN (Canon Professional Network), showing British photographer Don McCullin being introduced to digital photography (to the [shoplink 2431]EOS 5D Mark III[/shoplink] in particular). The mentor of the moment is Jeff Ascough, Canon Ambassador of Light. Well, Don McCullin is (or was) a Nikon film camera shooter :-).

It’s a commercial video, that’s true, but I have seen lots of commercials that are much worse than this. This one is a nice and charming video.

Canon EOS 7D Mark II Possible Specifications Leaked

EOS 7D Mark II
Fake EOS 7D Mark II (mock-up)

A first list of possible specs of the rumored EOS 7D Mark II surfaced on the web. The EOS 7D Mark II is expected to be announced in early 2014. The specification list confirms the 24MP sensor I reported yesterday.

  • 24.1mp APS-C Sensor
  • Dual DIGIC V
  • 10fps
  • Dual Memory Card Slots (Unknown configuration)
  • 61 AF Points
  • 3.2″ LCD
  • Build quality like 5D3
  • GPS & Wifi
  • $2199 ($500 more than the 7D at launch)
  • ISO Performance to get close to the 5D3
  • “Lots of video features”

The feature list above separates the EOS 7D Mark II from the also feature-rich Canon EOS 70D. Speccing up the 7D Mark II is a step Canon will have to go if they want to establish the 7D Mark II as the new APS-C flagship over the EOS 70D.
