More #EOS5DMarkIII RAW sample pics at high ISO

First of all, Canon has put all the images on the 5D3 sample pic page (click here). They can be downloaded so you can play around with them.

Next, now we have some RAW files to analyze (click on the ISO value): 6400 and 51200. Having RAW files is a good thing, since they show the real performance of the sensor.

More high ISO pics can be seen on Paul Wards site, including crops and comparison with the 5D2:

The post has also a quick hands-on review and a HDR shot (click here, then scroll down).

Canon #EOS5DMarkIII Walk-around Video

Button controls, weather sealing, shutter mechanism and more tech insights of the EOS 5D Mark III.
And one thing by me: I am really pleased to see that Canon finally put the depth-of-field button where it always had should been (i.e. on the right place). Unfortunately I do not own a 5D3. ;-)

New Canon Patent: 17-40 f/2.8-4 Lens

Japanese site egami (Google translation) spotted a Canon patent for a 17-40 f/2.8-4 lens. She successor of the highly popular EF 17-40 f4L USM lens? Looks like. With the new 5D Mark III available in the near future it wouldn’t be strange if Canon decides to upgrade the EF 17-40 f4L USM lens. Surely a good lens for a full-frame camera, and, btw, the cheapest of Canon’s L lens.

More images from the patent and specification on egami’s site.

Did Nikon use a 5D Mark II to shot its promo videos

[thanks to our reader RaviSun3D]

Nikon is going to launch the D800 on March 7th and, well, it seems they used a 5D Mark II to shot some of the promo videos. That’s what appeared on a Photography group on Facebook.

Read the whole story clicking here.

Btw, after the announcement of the 5D Mark III there are lots of price drops for the 5D Mark II (more about this in a later post). Canon 5D Mark II price check: Amazon DE, Amazon UK, Amazon IT, Canon IT, WEX Photographic, Canon FR, Canon UK, Canon DE.
