EOS M6

From the conclusion:

While early EOS M-series mirrorless cameras underwhelmed a little, the new M6 has the features and image quality to be a serious contender in the hybrid market, as long as you don’t want 4k video.

For photographers considering an update from an older EOS M, M2, M3 or M10 model, the improved specifications make the M6 a worthwhile upgrade. While the exclusion of a built-in EVF is probably a deal breaker for serious enthusiasts, they aren’t the M6’s target market, with the larger DSLR-style EOS M5 still in the Canon lineup to meet their needs. Of course you can add the accessory EVF to the EOS M6, but that adds $200 to the price, makes it bulkier than the M5, and limits the use of the hotshoe for a mounted flash, so not ideal.

DPReview put the Canon EOS M6 under scrutiny and posted their full review.

According to the review, it seems the EOS M6 may become a vlogger’s favorite camera. From the conclusion:

If size is an ultimate priority, the M6 is a promising and powerful backup or second body for the established Canon shooter. It’s the company’s smallest camera to feature its latest 24MP APS-C sensor with Dual Pixel AF, the controls and touchscreen interface are a joy and many smaller EF (and -S) lenses pair up very nicely. A combination of camera lock-up and live view lags in continuous shooting are likely to be a little off-putting for more action-oriented photographers, but otherwise, the M6 is an easy recommendation.

Many Canon cameras are favorites for vloggers due to robust face tracking and pleasing (if not supremely detailed) output, and the EOS M6 proves fairly competent when used in this regard. But there are some compromises like iffy ergo’vlog’ics, and there are plenty of other mirrorless options to consider that shoot 4K video. It must be said though, none will offer the impressively reliable and easy-to-use continuous autofocus performance that Dual Pixel AF provides. Read the review at DPReview.

Photography Blog reviewed Canon’s latest addition to the company’s mirrorless line-up, the Canon EOS M6.

From the conclusion:

All the key manual controls are quick to hand – aperture, shutter speed, ISO and focusing. And that is before we have even got to the responsive touchscreen, which is particularly useful for spot focusing. Being able to touch the part of the scene that you want to focus on increases the hit rate of sharp shots. […]

Once again, Canon has delivered when it comes to image quality. JPEGs straight out of the camera are crisp and vibrant, with faithful colour rendition.

Overall, the EOS M6 tick a lot of boxes and sees Canon continue to move in the right direction with its EOS-M range of compact system cameras.

ePhotozine reviewed the Canon EOS M6, the company’s latest mirrorless ILC. From the conclusion:

[…] if you’re looking for a compact camera to compliment a range of Canon lenses you already have, then the EOS M6 with adapter, would make a good option, particularly with some of the smaller EF-S lenses. You will get the same image quality as an APS-C DSLR from Canon, and the layout of controls, menus, and options should be familiar, making the camera easy to use.

The Canon EOS M6 is a compact, and easy to use mirrorless camera, with a slowly growing range of lenses available, although it would be nice if there were more lenses available. The camera delivers good image quality, with good colour, and good skin tones and the camera has an easy to use design, with a clear touch-screen. Shooting speed has been improved, with the camera shooting at 9fps, as well as offering good focus speeds.
