Firmware Version 1.0.1 incorporates the following fix:

1. Fixes a phenomenon in which the captured image may exhibit uneven exposure when the camera is used with a TS-E 17mm f/4L or TS-E 24mm f/3.5L II lens which is shifted or tilted during shooting.

Firmware Version 1.0.1 is for cameras with firmware Version 1.0.0. If the camera's firmware is already Version 1.0.1, it is not necessary to update the firmware.

4K Time-Lapse: Container Ship Traveling From Vietnam to China (plus loading process, EOS 5D Mark III)

It’s time for a new time-lapse video. The impressing video above was made by Toby Smith, and shows the trip of container ship Gunhilde Maersk from Ho-Chi Minh, Vietnam to Ningbo, China. The time-lapse video was produced shooting 78,500 pictures with a Canon [shoplink 2431]EOS 5D Mark III[/shoplink] with an EF 17mm tilt-shift lens mounted. The EOS 5D Mark III was mounted in a solar powered, special housing that can withstand harsh marine weather conditions.

Handevision IBELUX 40mm f/0.85, world’s fastest lens for EOS M now selling at $1,199 ($700 off)

IBELUX 40mm f/0.85

The Handevision IBELUX 40mm f/0.85 is the world’s fastest lens for your [shoplink 29518]EOS M3[/shoplink] (and other mirrorless cameras), and it got another price drop, selling at $1,199 (B&H Photo | Amazon) after a $700 price drop from the regular price. Still not a budget lens but consider it goes f/0.85. On the EOS M3’s APS-C sensor the IBELUX 40mm f/0.85 becomes a 64mm. And it weighs as much as the Zeiss Otus 85mm.

LensRentals felt the pulse of the Handevision IBELUX 40mm f/0.85 and found that it outperforms the Canon [shoplink 177]EF 50mm f/1.2L[/shoplink] in the center. Below is a short video-review of the IBELUX by Matt Granger (not on an EOS M). Canon Watch’s EOS M3 review is here.

  • Canon EF-M Mount/APS-C Format
  • 64mm (35mm Equivalent)
  • Aperture Range: f/0.85 to f/22
  • Concave Front Lens Element
  • 250° Manual Focus Throw
  • Ten-Blade Circular Diaphragm
  • Metal Lens Barrel & Integrated Lens Hood
  • Minimum Focus Distance: 2.5′
  • Filter Thread: 67mm
