Not that it would come as a surprise: Canon dominates the mirrorless sales rankings in Japan, according to BCNR.

Here is the ranking (the EOS Kiss M2 is named M50 Mark II outside Asia):

Here is the latest X-Mas Canon rumor for you. What about a new Canon mirrorless camera, an EOS R8?

Latest from the interweb of rumor mills has it that Canon might be set to announce a new mirrorless camera ahead of CP+ 2023, which happens in February 2023.

Says the source of the rumor, that they have…:

[…] been told a couple of times that the EOS R8 will take on a bit of a different form factor and will have a new kind of “flippy screen”. We also believe that the EOS R8 will use the same 24.2mp image sensor that is used in the EOS R10.

There will be a lot more announced ahead of CP+ […]

We are a bit puzzled a about the moniker, EOS R8. Doesn’t the number 8 have a special meaning in Japanese culture? Time will tell.

Canon Dominates Ranking Of Camera Equipment Rentals In America

Canon is the undisputed king when it comes to rented camera equipment.

Lens Rentals posted some statistics about the rented gear in 2022. Canon dominates, with the EOS R5 and EOS R6 ranked at first and second place (see pic on top).

There is no discussion. Canon owns 35.77% of rented cameras in 2022, and 37.27% of rented lenses in 2022, as you can see in the screenshots below.

While these statistics refer to the North-American market, we have no doubt Canon rules camera rentals everywhere on the planet. Check out the statistics at Lens Rentals.
