Canon EOS 5D Mark IV firmware update released (ver. 1.1.2)
Canon released an important firmware update for the Canon EOS 5D Mark IV.
Firmware Version 1.1.2 incorporates the following improvements and fixes:
- Support has been added for chromatic aberration correction, peripheral illumination correction, distortion correction, and Digital Lens Optimizer when using Digital Photo Professional to process RAW images captured with the following TS-E lenses: TS-E 17mm f/4L, TS-E 24mm f/3.5L II, TS-E 50mm f/2.8L MACRO, TS-E 90mm f/2.8L MACRO, or TS-E 135mm f/4L MACRO.
- Fixes a phenomenon in which standard exposure may not be obtained, or an irregular exposure may result, when Silent LV (Live View) shooting with the following TS-E lenses: TS-E 50mm f/2.8L MACRO, TS-E 90mm f/2.8L MACRO, or TS-E 135mm f/4L MACRO.
- Support for Exif 2.31 has been added.
- Fixes a phenomenon in which the camera may not function normally when using the Camera Connect application to shoot a high frame rate movie.
- Fixes a phenomenon in which error 80 may occur when HDR movies are shot using the Remote Live View Shooting function. (Applies only to Canon Log-supported cameras.)

Mr. Kazuto Ogawa Appointed as President and C.O.O. of Canon U.S.A.
MELVILLE, N.Y., April 3, 2018 – Canon U.S.A., Inc., a leader in digital imaging solutions, has announced that Mr. Yuichi Ishizuka, the company’s president and chief operating officer, has taken a new assignment as president and chief executive officer of Canon Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) as of April 1, 2018. This announcement marks the culmination of a thirty-three year tenure with Canon Americas for Mr. Ishizuka, who also holds the position of managing executive officer for Canon Inc. in Japan.
Canon U.S.A. has announced that Mr. Kazuto Ogawa will succeed Mr. Ishizuka in the role of president and chief operating officer. Mr. Ogawa comes to Canon U.S.A. from Canon China, where he served as executive vice president. Mr. Ogawa brings with him over three decades of experience with Canon, including positions across the globe.
Canon EOS-1D X Mark II firmware update released (ver. 1.1.6)
Canon released a new firmware for the Canon EOS-1D X Mark II, versions 1.1.6.
Fixes a phenomenon in which the camera may not function normally when images are simultaneously displayed on the camera’s LCD monitor and an external monitor (via HDMI output).

Canon Introduces New UHDgc Series of 2/3-Inch Portable Zoom Lenses for 4K UHD Broadcast Cameras
Three New Lenses Deliver High Image Quality and Mobility
MELVILLE, N.Y., April 2, 2018 – Canon U.S.A. Inc., a leader in digital imaging solutions, today announced the launch of three new portable zoom 4K UHD broadcast lenses1: the CJ24ex7.5B, CJ18ex7.6B and CJ14ex4.3B. These new additions are compatible with 4K UHD broadcast cameras that have 2/3-inch sensors. Flanking the existing UHDxs series of 4K portable broadcast lenses that deliver excellent optical performance, these three lenses usher in the newly launched UHDgc series that will broaden 4K UHD shooting options. These new lenses provide 4K UHD imaging quality at a price point that is more accessible to the majority of the broadcast market. Additionally, the new lenses provide impressive UHD optical performance while maintaining a compact and lightweight design to meet a wide range of needs for video productions that include documentaries, sports, events and news coverage.
The CJ24ex7.5B, CJ18ex7.6B and CJ14ex4.3B utilize Canon’s proprietary optical design technology featuring materials such as fluorite and Ultra-low Dispersion (UD) glass to achieve high 4K UHD performance across the entire zoom range. In addition, the lenses support the wide color gamut approved by the ITU-R BT.2020 UHD broadcasting standard2. These features are essential to HDR imaging. The lens ergonomics and digital servo operational controls are similar to previously announced Canon portable zoom lenses, providing users with maximum mobility in a variety of shooting situations.

Availability
The Canon CJ24ex7.5B and CJ14ex4.3B 4K Portable Zoom Lenses are scheduled to be available in summer 2018, while the CJ18ex7.6B lens is scheduled to be available in fall 2018*. In addition, the lenses are being shown publicly for the first time at the Canon booth (C4325) at the NAB Show 2018 in Las Vegas from April 9-12.
