Photography Bay reviewed the Canon EOS 7D Mark II. Once more, a review confirms that the 7D2 is the state-of-the art APS-C DSLR.
From the conclusion:
The image quality improvements over the prior generation are better than expected. The AF system is state-of-the-art. The control and customization possible with this camera is more than you would expect for a $1800 asking price.
The spec sheet and feature highlights of the 7D Mark II can seem underwhelming at first glance. However, once you use this thing, you realize just how much is under the hood. I have to tip my hat to Canon for producing a solid, professional-grade camera at a very attractive price point.
As a sports and action camera, it is the best bang for your buck on the market. Nothing else comes close.
As an all-purpose DSLR, it is a strong offering that won’t slip up in just about any circumstance. Sure, there are cameras that offer more resolution or more video features; however, the 7D Mark II is very balanced from top to bottom.
Photography Bay give the EOS 7D Mark II a “highly recommended”. The review comes with sample pics, analysis of the highlight features, high ISO samples etc. Different lenses are tested and reviewed for their use on the 7D2.

ephotozine reviewed the new Canon EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS II lens. From the conclusion:
With the popularity of this lens’ predecessor, Canon’s new 100-400mm lens has a lot to live up to. As far as the performance of the lens is concerned, it has no problems living up to the reputation created by the old lens. Images are sharp, it focuses fast and handles well, especially thanks to the novel resistance adjustment on the zoom.
Where this lens my struggle is with how much it costs. Continuing the trend for new versions of lenses to be a fair bit more expensive, this lens is priced at a level higher than its predecessor ever was. Even so, for some people, the differences will be worth it. It’s credit to the old version of this lens that it is so hard to beat in terms of quality and value.
They liked the excellent build quality (see what R. Cicala has to say about the build quality), the relatively light weight, low distortion, weather and dust resistance, low chromatic aberrations, the built-in image stabilisation, and the fast auto-focus.
