Imaging Resource posted their comprehensive review of Canon’s new flagship, the Canon EOS-1D X Mark II, aka the “biggest, burliest and best Canon DSLR for sports, action and wildlife“.

From the conclusion:

[…] it’s big, it’s heavy, and it’s expensive, but the Canon 1DX Mark II is the best Canon DSLR for sports, action, wildlife, or photojournalism. The 20MP resolution is a slight increase from the earlier 1DX, but it might not suit those commercial photographers who need mountains of megapixels. However, for everything else, the Canon 1DX Mark II’s images are right on the money. Images look great, and dynamic range is excellent. High ISO performance is also top-notch, and the versatile autofocus and incredible burst shooting performance will not disappoint or slow you down. Read the review…

  • Manual Focus Design

Photographer and reviewer Dustin Abbott tested the new Zeiss Milvus APO Sonnar 135mm f/2 lens. And he is pretty fond of it.

He writes:

It is fairly large and definitely heavy, but this isn’t unusual in the current trend of full frame lens design.  Despite these very real challenges the lens is a masterful option for those looking for the ultimate 135mm lens.  It’s a joy to shoot with, and produces images that look amazing right out of the camera.  If you pride yourself on doing minimal post processing, you will love the Zeiss Milvus APO Sonnar 2/135mm; images look great without being touched.  If you are looking for a magical telephoto for shooting video, you will love this lens.  It is special, and I’m so glad that it has found its way into the Milvus lineup.

Dustin Abbott praises the “superb optical performance that is rarely matched and never outdone“. A sample pictures gallery is here. You can go for the written review, or watch the 16 minutes full review video below.

The Canon EOS M5 is here, and it seems to be anything users wanted. Tony & Chelsea Northrup posted an overview video that you may be interested to watch.

DPReview posted a critical article about the EOS M5, named “Opinion: The EOS M5 is Canon’s best ever mirrorless camera, and a big disappointment“, and in my opinion is one of the many, boring Canon brand-bashing reviews without any relation to the real world. Since Canon is market leader, I guess throwing mud on the company is some hipster-like thing the makes you look cool.
