Canon EOS 7D Mark II price drop, now below $1100 on Amazon US (reg. $1499)

Update: I’m no longer sure all the sellers with a price below $1,100 are authorised Canon retailers (thanks William). Please check before buying. It’s still Amazon but the 7D2s may be grey import items.

Not sure what this means, if it is a mistake, or if it means something else.

However, Amazon US has the Canon EOS 7D Mark II on sale clearly below $1,100. Compare at $1,499 at other Canon retailers.

Might this mean the Canon EOS 7D Mark III is around the corner? Because in some way it looks like a clearance sale to me (update: it’s not).
