Adorama has Canon’s Nifty-Fifty, the EF 50mm f/1.8 II lens on sale for $99 (compare to $125). Price shows up in cart, free shipping and 4% rewards. This is an amazing little gem.
Though is entirely made of plastic, this lens delivers very good optical performance, not to mention that it is an f/1.8. This is the lens every Canon shooter should have.
There has been some anticipation about what Canon is going to announce on Wednesday, February 12th, ready for CP+ (see list below). Now, some more information leaked, and there are interesting things that may come in the next days. Btw, the image above (showing the G1 X II) may be a fake (and most probably is).
In addition to the previously rumored stuff, these gear may be announced:
EVF-DC1 (External Viewfinder)
WP-DC53 (Water Proof Housing)
PowerShot D30
PowerShot SX700 HS
More gear to expect (previously leaked):
new DSLR below the Rebel SL1
PowerShot G1 X II
Canon PowerShot S200
Canon PowerShot SX280 IS, a new super-zoom compact camera
Possibly more PowerShot cameras
I am particularly thrilled by the electronic view-finder. It would be great if this EVF was not only meant for the G1 X II. In other words: will this EVF also work on the Canon EOS M and EOS M2?
Lots of Canon patents surfaced in the last weeks. Here is another one spotted by Egami (translated). If I got the (machine-) translated text right, both lenses should also feature macro capabilities.

Update: is the image of the G1 X II faked? That’s what Northlight Images states after having examined the picture. The say the end of the zoom ring is too abrupt. Moreover, the camera body appears to less sharp than the lens. See the (edited) pic below. What do you think, fake or real?
Canon Rumors spotted the first leaked picture of the Canon Powershot G1 X II, the replacement for the PowerShot G1 X. As you can see the G1 X II has an EVF instead of an optical view-finder. The preliminary specs are:
