Not that we had any doubts left that Canon would announce new gear on February 8, 2023. Now we have a teaser too.

Canon China has released a teaser for a February 8, 2023 announcement (image in top).

We expect Canon to announce the Canon EOS R8, EOS R50, RF 24-50mm F4.5-6.3 IS STM and the RF-S 55-210mm f/5-7.1 IS STM. A set of alleged specifications for the Canon EOS R8 has already leaked:

Here is a new rumor coming from Japan. Soon we will see the Canon EOS R8 and EOS R50 and some new lenses for the RF mount. Read on.

Latest rumors suggest that Canon might announce soon two new mirrorless cameras, the Canon EOS R8 and Canon EOS R50. we already have some specs to discuss:

Canon EOS R8

Kit lens: RF24-50mm F4.5-6.3 IS STM
International price: $1499 body, $1699 lens kit

EOS R50

Do you have color variations? (SKUs: 5811C001, 5812C001)
Kit lens: RF-S18-45mm F4.5-6.3 IS STM, RF-S55-210mm F5-7.1 IS STM
International price: $679 body, $799 lens kit, $1029 double zoom kit

Not to forget, Canon will also announce the RF 24-50mm F4.5-6.3 IS STM (price unknown) and the RF-S 55-210mm f/5-7.1 IS STM (expected price: $299, see here for more).

The rumor mill is going wild. New owner, new momentum. Latest has it that Canon might announce a new EOS R camera in Q1 2023. The Canon EOS R50.

Please be aware that the moniker “R50” comes from the community, it’s not an official Canon naming. I can not say how this rumor fits in withe the previous rumor from the same source, i.e. that a Canon EOS R100 and EOS R1000 are on their way. The source suggests that the EOS R100 might indeed be the here discusses EOS R50.

No specifications so far. The Canon EOS R50 might get announced before the CP+ show in Japan, which starts on February 2, 2023.
