Canon EF-M 11-22mm f/4-5.6 IS STM Set To Be Released On July 11

Canon Japan announced the release date for Canon’s third lens for the [shoplink 6091]EOS M[/shoplink] system, the wide-angle zoom 11-22mm f/4-5.6 IS STM lens. It will be released to the public on July 11.
Good times for the so much criticised (not always for a good reason, imo) EOS M: the recently released firmware update countered the slow AF issue that were plaguing the EOS M since the beginning, and that yielded a lot of bad press. With firmware 2.0.2 the EOS M AF has become perfectly usable. Some videos that show the AF performance with firmware 2.0.2 on the 11-22mm are here.
The EF-M 11-22mm f/4-5.6 IS STM can be pre-ordered at the following shops:
- Amazon Germany (€399) – ships also to Austria and Switzerland
- Wexcameras.de (€399)
- WEX Photographic (£379)
- Amazon France (€449)
- Amazon Japan (¥40,569)
- DigitalRev (price depends by check-out location) – ships international (custom taxes and duties for EU countries included in final price)
- The lens is [shoplink 14072 ebay]available also on eBay[/shoplink], if you do not mind paying a higher price ($600)
