Canon Hints At A “V” Camera Announcement On March 26, 2025
Canon USA has shared a teaser image on social media, hinting at an upcoming product launch. The teaser, which reads “Coming soon March 26th,” suggests that a new camera—possibly related to the PowerShot V1—will be unveiled.
The image implies that a new addition to the “V” series will be introduced on March 26th. On the left side of the teaser is the already-released PowerShot V1 (available in Japan), while on the right appears to be an unannounced product set for a global debut. Given that the PowerShot V1 hasn’t been officially launched in Europe or the US, this suggests a simultaneous worldwide announcement.
The unreleased model appears slightly larger than the V1, hinting at a larger image sensor than the V1’s 1.4-inch sensor. Rather than being a mere variant of the PowerShot V1, it might belong to the EOS R series and potentially support the rumored RF lens system.
While the rumored “EOS RV” is not expected until late March, the silhouette of the teaser closely resembles the leaked images of the RV. If not the RV, it could be the rumored “EOS R50 V,” for which no images have surfaced yet. This new model might share a design similar to the EOS RV.
