United Kingdom, Republic of Ireland, 15 September 2014 – Canon today unveils exciting new updates to its cloud-based image management service irista, part of the next development phase of the platform originally launched in June. With a host of enhanced new features, including a newly-designed and optimised user experience for tablets, the ability to create your own photo book from within irista and direct integration with Canon’s Wi-Fi enabled cameras, the updates make irista more connected and easier to use than ever before.

From today, take advantage of integration with Canon’s Wi-Fi enabled cameras. You’ll be able to select irista as a direct upload option on your camera; ensuring images are stored instantly to the platform and are accessible from all compatible devices, all at the touch of a button.And from December 2014, the refreshed platform will also be multi-device ready and compatible with a wide range of the most popular iOS and Android tablets. The user experience has been enhanced to make all of irista’s functionality accessible via a tablet, as well as optimised to support varying screen sizes for managing complete image libraries on the move.In addition, irista will offer Adobe™ Lightroom integration, allowing you to edit images in Lightroom and store them directly on irista to maintain a single repository for all your photos. Other Lightroom integration features include publishing XMP data in irista, being able to search XMP data to ensure you can filter your images according to Lightroom metadata, and synchronisation of photos being re-edited from Lightroom.Also available in time for Christmas, you can use your image library stored in irista to create and order stunning Canon-quality photo books. Simply select your images and design requirements within irista, place your order, and you’ll receive a beautiful, premium quality printed photo book so you can enjoy your photos even more. irista is available with a variety of storage options to suit individual requirements. The ‘entry’ tier offers up to 10GB free-of-charge, while advanced enthusiasts or professional users requiring higher storage levels can choose from two advanced storage options, with 50GB and 100GB tiers available for the following monthly or annual cost:

  • Up to 50GB: £4.49/€4.99 per month, or £45.00/€49.00 per year
  • Up to 100GB: £9.99/€10.99 per month, or £99.99/€109.00 per year
