How To Make The Perfect Bullet Time Shots Using Nearly $500K Of Canon Gear (EOS-1D X)

The video was made in 2013 by Swiss Radio and TV SRF with the support of Canon Switzerland. 50 Canon EOS-1D X cameras and 50 EF 24-70mm f/2.8L II USM were used for Bullet Time Shots (BTS) used for the programme “Sommer-Challenge”. From the article at CPN Europe:

“We approached Canon to see if 50 cameras and lenses were available to do this shoot,” explains cameraman Reischer, who didn’t specify which DSLR he required when he first enquired. It was lucky they made the request when they did, as usually Canon does not have this number of bodies and lenses available. But in this case, there were a few days of opportunity for the shoot, before Canon’s preparations began for the World Athletics Championships in Moscow. “It was like ‘wow’. This is the top model. We were going to shoot with 50 of them – it was just crazy,” Reischer recalls. The enormity of the task, and the challenge of getting to know Canon’s flagship DSLR intimately, was dawning.

Interbrand’s Best Global Green Brands and Newsweek‘s Green Rankings are created using publicly available data. Both take a variety of factors into account from quantitative environmental performance figures like energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions, to more subjective information like market perception and reputation.

Through a generation green initiative, Canon has established numerous sustainability initiatives, including an office equipment recycling program and toner cartridge recycling program that has collected approximately 240,000 tons of empty toner cartridges around the world. Canon is also among the first office equipment manufacturers to partner with the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) in its ENERGY STAR program and among the first manufacturers with qualifying products for a Gold rating in the new imaging equipment category of EPEAT®, the global registry for greener electronics. In February 2014, Canon Americas Headquarters in Melville, N.Y. was awarded LEED® Gold certification and is the largest commercial property on Long Island to accomplish this milestone.

Created in collaboration with Deloitte Consulting, this list examines the 100 companies included on Interbrand’s annual Best Global Brands report. Interbrand also conducts a survey of more than 10,000 consumers worldwide to gauge consumer perceptions of companies’ green activities and reputation.

Compiled by the magazine’s editorial staff through insightful data from industry experts and the research firm Corporate Knights Capital, this list evaluates the 500 largest global publicly-traded companies on their environment performance including energy consumption, greenhouse gas emissions, water consumption and use of recycling. Other factors include the company’s reputation for sustainability, the link between executive compensation and achievement of environmental performance targets, and the presence of a sustainability committee.

Canon moves up in Interbrand’s Best Global Green Brands ranking
London, 14 July 2014 – Canon, world-leader in imaging solutions, has risen to 26th place on the latest Interbrand Best Global Green Brands list, up from 30th place in 2013. The Interbrand report highlights Canon’s implementation of sustainable practices in 2012, including reducing CO2 emissions over entire product life cycles by nearly three times the company’s target, and collecting 310,000 tons of used toner cartridges globally since 1990, consequently reducing CO2 emissions by approximately 450,000 tons and avoiding the need for 201,000 tons of new resources.
The annual Interbrand Best Global Green Brands report is based on consumer research designed to examine the gap that exists between a brand’s environmental performance and consumers’ perceptions of that performance.
