Reducing shake also lessens fatigue when viewing for long periods of time, making them comfortable to use at concerts and events. Solution will Enable Remote Operation of Canon’s Interchangeable Lens Cameras in Inaccessible Locations for Photographers

MELVILLE, NY, September 19, 2019 – Canon U.S.A. Inc., a leader in digital imaging solutions, today announced that its parent company, Canon Inc., is developing a remote-control solution that will allow for operation of the company’s interchangeable-lens cameras. Remote operation of cameras has been growing in popularity among photo agencies and media outlets, as seen in today’s coverage of global sporting and news events. Recently a Canon patent application was spotted that discussed technologies for an eye-controlled autofocus system. Something Canon already offered back in the film days with the Canon EOS 3.

Nikon, Leica And Olympus Will Not Attend Photokina 2020

Well, this comes as a surprise. A big player like Nikon not going to attend Photokina 2020?

That’s what a Photokina 2020 press release unveils (emphasis mine):

“We look forward to strong demand and applications from both the new and the classic segments of companies like Canon, CEWE, GoPro, Sony, Panasonic, Kodak Alaris, Sigma, Tamron, Carl Zeiss, Hasselblad, Hahnemühle, Arri, Rode Mikrophones, DJI and Insta360”, says Christoph Werner, Vice President of Koelnmesse. These are contrasted by cancellations, including from Leica, Nikon and Olympus.

It’s not just Nikon to let us puzzled. Leica is a traditional German camera manufacturer and maybe it is even weirder that they do not partecipate to Photokina 2020. Wonder if there are more, untold reasons that motivated Nikon, Leica and Olympus to not attend Photokina 2020.
