Potato Jet On YouTube compares the Canon EOS R with the Canon EOS C500 Mark II. That’s comparing a $1,800 camera with a $16,000 professional tool for videographers. Some good news about the new Canon EOS-1D X Mark III. Will this stop the Canon-smashing when it comes to dynamic range? Probably not. But then, dynamic range is a measure that already has little importance in real life, so I guess at the end of the day it doesn’t matter.

Photons to Photos allows you to compare the dynamic range of cameras. Below you see graph comparing the Canon EOS-1D X Mark III with the Sony a9 II. Difference is so little that you can say they have the same DR. Moreover, the EOS-1D X Mark III seems to do better up to approx. ISO 600, the Sony does slightly better at very high ISO.
