Canon Rumor: A New EOS M Camera This Summer?

[shoplink 12177 ebay]Canon Rumor[/shoplink]

Latest Canon EOS M rumor. It could happen that Canon announces a new EOS M system camera during summer 2013, along with some new EF-M lenses. One of the lenses should be an 18-135mm zoom lens with compact size, the other a telephoto zoom lens (but no specs here).

The bad news: the rumor suggests that Canon considers the EOS M part of an entry level segment, hence there will be no new primes for the system.

Actually there is a very good EOS M deal going on on eBay. eBay seller bigvalueinc (>57000 ratings, 98.2% positive) has the Canon EOS M with the EF-M 22mm f/2 STM pancake lens on sale for [shoplink 12177 ebay]$399 (click here)[/shoplink]. Free shipping. All four color option are available.

It is getting chaotic. After various rumors about the release date of the EF 200-400mm f/4L IS 1.4x, one said May 14th the other postponed everything to 2014, a new rumor surfaced and appears to confirm the announcement in May. Beside May 14th (i.e. tomorrow!), the 31st of May is also a possible candidate. In any case, the rumor says there will be a limited supply for the first weeks.

Rumor: Images Of Two New Canon Compact Cameras Leaked

New Canon Compact
Canon S200

Digicame-info (translated) posted a series of images of two new Canon compact cameras. One is named S200, the other is an unknown superzoom camera that could be the replacement for the SX500 [shoplink 12196](price & specs)[/shoplink]. Are these the camera that Canon is going to announce on May 31?

The “S200” is somewhat weird: there has already been a PowerShot S200 in the past.

Video: Is Metabones Working On A SpeedBooster For EOS M?

SpeedBooster For EOS M? That’s what the videos above and below suggests (by user ckstoa on YouTube). The video above shows an adapter taken from a box with Metabones written on. The used camera is clearly an EOS M (the AF for sure :-) ). In the video below you can clearly see the Metabones logo on the adapter. Is this a prototype undergoing testing? Metabones never mentioned the EOS M mount explicitly, they were just stating that “support for other mounts will be added in the future”.

Interesting news! Would be cool to have a Speed Booster for the Canon EOS M [shoplink 6091](price & specs)[/shoplink]. Btw, the EOS M used in the videos has Magic Lantern installed on it.

Canon Rumor: A Large Sensor PowerShot Camera Coming In 2013

[shoplink 1785]Canon Rumor[/shoplink]

A new, interesting rumor came up. Canon may be working on a compact camera with a large sensor. Not a successor of the PowerShot G1 X [shoplink 1785](price & specs)[/shoplink], but a camera like the PowerShot S110 [shoplink 10422](price & specs)[/shoplink], just a bit a larger. The camera should have a fast lens and the new APS-C 18MP sensor featured on the Rebel Sl1/EOS 100D [shoplink 11240](price & specs)[/shoplink], and the DIGIC 6 Image Processing Unit. No viewfinder. Pricing should be less than the PowerShot G1 X when it was released. We expect Canon to announce this camera at the end of SUmmer 2013.
