It appears that Canon is sending out invites for a big product launch that is supposed to happen in the next 6-8 weeks. Unfortunately no more information leaked. Could it be related to the Canon EOS 70D? Possibly. If the rumor of the announcement is true, then there will be more rumors and maybe leaks in the next weeks. Stay tuned.

A rumor about a possible replacement for the [shoplink 184]Canon EF 35mm f/1.4L[/shoplink] prime lens surfaced. There are neither specifications nor an announcement date (announcement shouldn’t be in short). Moreover, it is said that Canon may announce the lens when they announce a new full-frame DSLR (in 2014). Last year I I reported about a patent that most probably refers to the new 35mm.

A new Canon rumor concerning a new L lens and a possible replacement for both the [shoplink 246]EF 16-35mm f/2.8L II[/shoplink] and the very popular [shoplink 242]EF 17-40mm f/4L IS[/shoplink] lenses surfaced. The new lens is said to be a 14-24 f/2.8L lens. The replacement lens is said to be an EF 16-50 f/4L IS lens.
This showed up on Weibo, and to be honest the only hint is a barely readable label on the camera strap that may indicate a “3”. Hence, the EOS 3D. Could also be a “2”. Rumors about a high megapixel DSLR Canon is supposed to work on surface since long. Note that the camera is blurred out (may also mean something).

It was a while we didn’t here about the murmured high res DSLR Canon is supposed to work on. New rumors surfaced.
Canon’s big megapixel camera could be announced before the end of 2014. It seems that Canon is not sure yet which form factor the cam should have, discussion is about a EOS 5D Mark III [shoplink 254](price & specs)[/shoplink] or EOS-1D X [shoplink 4119](price & specs)[/shoplink] styled body. Or maybe a new form factor that’s somewhere in between? It’s said that Canon is testing three different sensors for the final model, all above the 35 MegaPixel mark.
