Is The Golden Ratio Just BS, Not An Universal Constant?

Is the Golden Ratio nothing more than a construct of our imagination, something that we want to see?

Youtuber Joe Scott says:

The Golden Ratio is a mathematical construct that has been observed all throughout nature, architecture, and art. And some think it’s a universal constant, and divine. But… is it? Or are we only seeing what we want to see?

And he discusses the topic in the video below. I do not agree but your mileage might be different.
