A new rumor surfaced, again suggesting Canon will get serious about the EOS M system… next year.
It’s not the first time that rumors suggest a break-through EOS M camera. in 2014 we were told that Canon would take the EOS M system seriously in 2015. Though the [shoplink 29518]EOS M3[/shoplink] appears to be a good attempt (waiting for mine to be delivered), it’s still not convincing anyone Canon is taking it seriously. It’s true that you can virtually use any EF or EF-S lens with the adapter, but having only four native lenses isn’t a sign of great commitment to the cause.
Yannick Ciancanelli did some auto-focus testing with Canon lenses on the new Sony [shoplink 32538]Alpha a7RII[/shoplink]. Results seem to be by far not so stellar as many people claims in forums.
Canon filed a patent for a EF-S 100-300mm f/4-5.6 image-stabilised zoom. According to the patent, the lens will fit APS-C DSLRs. As usual with patents you can never be sure the described product will hit the market. If it does, this could be a new budget zoom lens.
