Tokina Joins the Cine Lens Party with a 16-28 T3.0 lens
DSLRs are becoming increasingly more important for video productions. No surprise that lens manufacturers want to join the market. The latest entry comes from Tokina, with their 16-28 T3.0 Cinema lens. The lens appears to be an adaption from the Tokina AT-X 16-28 f/2.8 PRO FX lens. The Cine lens will be available for EF and PL mounts. The price published on Tokina’s site (translated) is somewhat puzzling: 580.000 Yen, which roughly gives 4350 Euro or $5437. That’s a high price tag, especially if you consider that the AT-X 16-28 F2.8 PRO FX goes over the counter for 900 Euro/$699. The PL version is set to be released end of September, the EF version for end of November.
