In an interview with Spanish site Photolari, Sigma’s CEO Kazuto Yamaki says his company is doing what they can to make RF mount lenses. The interviewer asks his questions in Spanish (with English subtitles) and Mr. Kazuto Yamaki answers in English.

Canon Japan posted a press release where they tell that certain Canon cameras and lenses will soon get a price increase.

Canon Marketing Japan Inc. will revise the prices of some products and consumables.
Until now, we have made every effort to maintain product prices, but it has become difficult to maintain prices through corporate efforts alone.Therefore, in order to continue to provide high-quality products and services, we will revise the prices as follows.
October 20 “Interchangeable Lens Camera/Interchangeable Lens/Compact Digital Camera/Binoculars/CINEMA EOS/Professional Video Camera” was added.

Canon released a new Canon EOS-1D X Mark III firmware. It’s version 1.6.2.
Canon EOS-1D X Mark III Firmware Update Version 1.6.2 incorporates the following fixes:
1. Fixes an issue that, in rare cases, displays an Error Code 70 after the camera has been connected to a network for a prolonged period of time.
2. Fixes minor issues.
If the camera’s firmware is already Version 1.6.2, it is not necessary to update the firmware.

It appears the Canon PowerShot G9 X Mark II has been discontinued, at least in Japan.
There doesn’t seem to be a replacement on the horizon. Has Canon discontinued the PowerShot G9 X line? Maybe.
Maybe the competition from smartphones has become too much for Canon to go on producing fixed lens cameras with an 1″ sensor.
