Canon EOS 70D Developer’s Interview And Shooting Tips

The Canon EOS 70D is the most innovative DSLR Canon made since long. It’s the first to feature the game changing Dual Pixel AF (see also the video at bottom), has 7fps, very good high ISO performance, a tilt-able touch-screen, and much more. I have it and I love it. Even if I use more pro-oriented DSLRs, the 70D is my favorite camera. Together with the Sigma 18-35mm f/1.8 it makes a killer kit with a substantial “fun factor”. My favorite walk-around and everyday combination.

While searching for the developer’s interview about the EOS 7D Mark II, I found a similar interview about the 70D, along with some shooting tips on Canon Asia‘s site.

Upcoming Canon EF 11-24mm f/4L To Cost $3,000?

EF 11-24 f/4L

More confirmation surfaced suggesting we will soon see the EF 11-24mm f/4L. Here at CW we got a mention of a soon-to-come announcement a week ago, and there is a patent for a 11-24mm f/4 that was spotted in January 2014. The latest mention of this lens, which I am pretty sure will be announced in the near future, suggests it will have a retail price of $3,000. Hefty.

Canon EOS 7D Mark II Developer’s Interview

Canon Asia posted a four part interview with the developers of Canon’s latest APS-C flagship, the EOS 7D Mark II. Also, don’t miss the short clip above, it shows the EOS 7D Mark II in various dissection animations.

An excerpt:

Q: Does the body have a dust- and moisture-resistant structure?

A: Yes, the body is designed with considerations given to its dust- and moisture-resistance. In response to feedback on the design of the EOS 7D, dust- and moisture-resistance is about four times stronger on the EOS 7D Mark II, with enhancements made to many parts of the body, including the strap mount and battery compartment cover.
