Pic Of The Day (EOS 70D + Sigma 18-35mm f/1.8 Art) – And Some India Travel Advice

EOS 70D + Sigma 18-35mm f/1.8 Art
Canon EOS 70D w/ Sigma 18-35mm f/1.8 – shot at 1/80, f/2, ISO 400, 29mm

Just a pic to show you what amazing things you can do with the Canon EOS 70D and the awesome Sigma 18-35mm f/1.8 Art lens. The both together make a fantastic kit. I am still working on a review of the Sigma, so stay tuned despite my laziness.

I shot the pic using the EOS 70D’s Dual Pixel AF. I get better results when using Dual Pixel AF with apertures below f/2.8. Possibly my Sigma sample has a back- or front-focusing issue. Not a real problem since Canon’s Dual Pixel AF copes very well with such issues. In other words: you have not to worry about back-focusing as long as you use Dual Pixel AF, it always gets it right. The pic was shot at night time, no flash, just an f/2 aperture at ISO 400 – not bad, isn’t it?

If you are backpacking in India and start from Delhi I recommend the Cottage Ganga Inn (no, I am not getting money for writing this). It’s a small hotel in the Paharganj district in New Delhi (the main backpacker hub in Delhi). An inexpensive hotel, clean, safe, and with a very helpful staff. Highly recommended. I am travelling with a lot of gear and had no problems letting my stuff in the room.

Have a great day wherever you are :-)
