Canon Rumor: Canon Working on a 75MP DSLR?

Canon Rumor

New Canon big megapixel rumor. While in the past 45-50MP were rumored, now word is Canon has a 75MP DSLR out in the wild undergoing testing. The camera should have the same form factor as the EOS-1D X. No much specs have leaked, except that the camera will have a higher frame rate than the EOS-1D X, that the rear LCD is very high resolution. The camera may be announced in 2013, but will be released not before 2014.

Although this is the first time I hear about this, it is not implausible. Canon tested (and had) high res sensors in the past. The question is if such a sensor, i.e. a 75MP sensor, will go into production and be featured in a camera. I take the possibility of the announcement with a grain of salt.

Sigma 18-35mm f/1.8 DC HSM Review (Learningcameras)

Sigma 18-35mm preorders available at Amazon (click here).

Learningcameras reviewed Sigma’s biggest achievement (so far): The Sigma 18-35mm f/1.8 DC HSM lens, the first zoom lens for APS-C cameras to deliver constant f/1.8 over the zoom range. I featured many reviews here on CW, all praise the outstanding performance of this lens. Learningcameras review isn’t different. More after the break.

A Guide for Shooting RAW on the Canon EOS 50D Using Magic Lantern Hack (Book)

Magic Lantern Hack

The Magic Lantern hack that brought RAW video on the Canon EOS 50D (here on eBay). Not only the EOS 50D now can shoot video (was never thought to do so) but it can shoot RAW footage. To make it short: the EOS 50D delivers lot of videography power for the money you have to spend. The EOS 50D is five year old, can be found on eBay for around $500 (but believe me, the price will raise) , and is a solidly build camera. All this magic attracted people interested in using the 50D as video tool, so EOSHD made a guide to recording cinematic raw video on the Canon 50D. More after the break.
