Some new bits about the Canon EOS R100, an upcoming entry level Canon mirrorless camera we reported about back in June, 2022.

The now surfaced, alleged Canon EOS R100 specifications are slightly different from the specifications we posted June, 2022. Here are both specification lists (left the newly rumored and right the one we posted in June:

We can’t see much new intel in the new list, besides the obvious. That a very entry level mirrorless camera might have no EVF doesn’t come as a surprise. As you can see the suggested resolution hasn’t changed. Nothing to write home about.

A new Canon EOS R1 rumor surfaced, restating things that have already been suggested.

The latest Canon EOS R1 rumor confirms the rumored announcement date in the second half of 2023 and adds that first teasers might start already in Spring 2023. What else? This:

  • Canon EOS R1 to be the “new resolution king” in Canon’s lineup
  • Focus on 8K video, looking at the Cinema lineup
  • New form factor and ergonomics
  • New features

Canon To Announce 4 Wide-angle L-grade Primes For The RF Mount Within Next 12 Months?

A new Canon rumor surfaced. Canon might be set to announced four L-grade prime lenses for the RF mount within the next 12 months.

These are the rumored lenses:

  • Canon RF 12mm f/1.8L USM
  • Canon RF 24mm f/1.4L USM
  • Canon RF 28mm f/1.4L USM
  • Canon RF 35mm f/1.2L USM

Moreover, the Canon RF 135mm f/1.8L USM might also get announced soon, maybe it is the first one to get announced.

It appears as if the upcoming Nikon Z 8 mirrorless camera is already used.

In a post on Weibo by Nikon China you can find a 67MP image. Nikon does not have a camera with this resolution. So, it’s suspected the image was shot with the upcoming Nikon Z 8.

A new rumor, about the Canon RF 300mm f/2.8L IS lens. Is it coming? The EF version is discontinued.

A rather confident rumor suggests that Canon might be close to announce the Canon RF 300mm f/2.8L IS lens. Says the source of the rumor:

[…] Canon has prototypes out in the wild and that the lens is a ground-up redesign of the focal length.

[…] weight has been reduced by almost 40% and  the length by as much as 30% over it’s EF predecessor, though they didn’t have the exact dimensions and weight to give us.

The lens is rumored to get announced at the beginning of 2023.
