Update: it’s a 150-600mm
It is a recent rumor that Tamron will soon release a new lens, said to be a 150-500mm f/5-6.3 VC. The announcement is expected for tomorrow, Thursday November 7.
CR posted what appears to be a picture of the lens. The Tamron has a new optical formula and will replace the Tamron 200-500mm f/5-6.3.
Tamron will soon announce a new lens, candidate date is November 7th.
Rumors have word that it will be a replacement for the current Tamron 200-500mm f/5-6.3, but that it will have more range, possibly 150-500mm, and feature image stabilization technology (VC=Vibration Compensation). Tamron will just announce the development of the lens, pricing and availability will be known in Q4 2014.

A new rumour concerning the next top pro “1” series Canon DSLR. We are talking about a still camera this time.
NL had word that a new top 1-series body could be announced in Q2 of 2014. A price reduction of the [shoplink 4119]EOS-1D X[/shoplink] before the announcement of the new body can be expected. The new DSLR most probably will not ship before end of 2014.
No specs unfortunately.
Most recent rumours suggest that Canon won’t announce anything EOS-related during the last months of 2013, at least not for the DSLR line-up. However, something may be in preparation. The EOS M2 is rumoured as a candidate for an announcement.
CR reports that “a major retailer” is going to show off new gear, the presentation appears to be scheduled for the third week of November, and Canon seems to be involved. The suspect of the case is the successor of the [shoplink 6091]Canon EOS M[/shoplink], for the time being usually named EOS M2.
An announcement of the EOS M2 so short before X-Mas appears not to be the best marketing strategy, unless Canon can ship from day one and starts a phenomenal marketing campaign to get ready for the X-Mas sales.

Sigma 18-35mm f/1.8 DC HSM

It appears that Sigma will enjoy us with more lenses based on their new technology. Various lenses that will be part of the “Sport” line-up may be announced. The rumor fits with the rumored list of next Sigma lenses we posted aome time ago.
The rumor has word that Sigma will announce first a 300mm f/2.8 OS and a 400mm f/2.8 OS lens. These lenses may be undergone field-testing during the Winter Olympic Games. The other lenses Sigma is said to work on are a 500mm and a 800mm lens.
I can just hope Sigma will again be able to pack all the engineering wizardry they put into the awesome [shoplink 14551]18-35mm f/1.8 DC HSM[/shoplink] and [shoplink 8892]35mm f1.4 DG[/shoplink] lenses.

We got word (thanks) that Canon could soon (by October 31st) release a new firmware update for the Canon EOS 5D Mark III. The update should mainly address an issue with the SpeedLite 600EX-RT not firing several times when you use manual setings and IR on. The update will be available here.
